Joseph F. Andrews, M.D.
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Andrews relocated to Delaware in 1986 establishing himself as the first dermatologist in Dover, DE. Dr. Andrews has a unique medical background in that upon graduation from Temple Medical School, he elected to complete two residency programs: Internal Medicine and Dermatology. While completing his first residency in Internal Medicine, Dr. Andrews became intrigued by the various conditions that may arise on the skin/hair/nails. This eventually led him towards enrolling in a second residency program of Dermatology. While completing his Dermatology residency at Geisinger Medical Center, Dr. Andrews learned an extensive list of dermatologic conditions. Additionally, he had the opportunity to study under Dr. Frederic E. Mohs, the founder of the widely utilized MOHS procedure.
One of Dr. Andrews’ primary goals has always been to provide patients with the highest levels of care and attention. Having this goal as the foundation of every action taken by Delaware Dermatology, Dr. Andrews prides himself on having established a practice that he would choose for his own family members. Today, in addition to maintaining his private practice, Dr. Andrews is on staff at Bayhealth Medical Center where he holds both medical and surgical privileges. Outside of medicine, Dr. Andrews enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
